Purchasing

The City of Salo strives to handle purchasing in an open, economic and professional manner in addition to observing the principles of sustainable development. Purchasing is carried out in accordance with the legislation in the Act on Public Contracts and the city´s purchasing instructions. The task of the City of Salo purchasing function is to advise, guide and co-ordinate the city´s various work units in their purchasing activities. Purchasing also co-operates with different branches of administration to arrange competitive tenders for joint procurement. The Purchasing function operates in the City of Salo´s finance department, which is located at Tehdaskatu 1.

When possible, the City of Salo announces pending purchases for which competitive tendering is in progress on its website. The contact information for each tender competition is included in the purchasing announcement.

Depending on the type of purchasing and the selected procurement method, an announcement may be published in:
- the HILMA procurement channel (www.hankintailmoitukset.fi )
- The Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union (S series), and the TED database (www.ted.europa.eu )
- Newspapers and trade journals
