Home care
Home care services are available when, due to illness, diminished functional capacity or some other reason, an elderly person needs help at home in order to cope with ordinary activities. Employees monitor the elderly person´s health and provide counselling in service-related matters. The aim of home care is to support living at home for as long as possible and to prevent the need for institutional care. Home care includes home services and home nursing. Home care can be regular (at least once a week) or temporary depending on the person´s needs.
The service forms in home care can be assistance with daily activities, such as eating, personal hygiene and other ordinary activities. If necessary, home care can also administer medication and perform certain medical procedures.
You can apply for home care services by contacting the home care office in the elderly person´s own residential district.
