Using the Library

In the Salo libraries, you can borrow books, magazines, CDs and DVDs, videos, maps and CD-ROMs.

You can browse the collections online in the Salomo online database.

The loan periods for the items are two or four weeks.
- four weeks: books, audio books, sheet music, scores
- two weeks: books in high demand, some of the course books, CDs, CD-ROMs, maps, magazines that can be borrowed, video tapes, DVDs

Overdue items will be charged; renewing your loans is free!

You may renew your loans seven times - for example in the Salomo online library!

You must prove your identity in order to get a library card. The first card is free of charge.

Using your library card number and the PIN you can get from the library staff, you can
- renew your loans using the Salomo online database
- reserve items using the Salomo online database
- use the self service loan machine at the main library
- log into the computers reserved for customers at the main library

The library also offers lounges and facilities for studying and arranging meetings.

There are computers available for use in the libraries.

If an item is on loan, you can make a reservation. If an item is not included in the collection, you can make an acquisition proposal.
