Theatres, concerts and eventsSalo has a diverse cultural life, as is demonstrated by the numerous amateur theatres and summer stages in and around Salo. Held at the beginning of June, the Children´s Song City festival is perhaps the best known annual event in Salo. Don´t miss the Thursday evening markets either! Salo Theatre and Salon näyttämö amateur theatre can be found in the downtown, and they have performances all year round. Cultural House KIVA is also located in the downtown area and has theatre performances and concerts as well as other culture events. Many top Finnish artists perform on the Kiva stage every year. Salo is proud of its active and vibrant summer theatre activities. The city has eight associations and organisations that produce theatre, three of which also have performances in the winter.
