Social and health services

Social and health services are a part of the city´s welfare services.

The available social work services include adult social work, workforce service centre, parenting and family guidance, child welfare supervision and child protection services, and services for the disabled. Early family work and home services for families with children are produced in cooperation with health services.

Health care services include health centre services, 24-hour and emergency care, rehabilitation and therapy services, substance abuse and mental health services, preventive services as well as oral health care services and health centre hospital services. Other health services include special aid service, contraception counselling, care supply service, home hospital and discharge team, memory clinics, and health services for the unemployed. Early family work and home services for families with children are produced in cooperation with social services.

The City of Salo´s services for the elderly consist of service counselling, age centre activities, services supporting living at home and 24-hour care. The services supporting living at home include home care with its support services, home rehabilitation, family caregiving and subsidised home care in hospital discharge situations. 24-hour care includes service housing units with 24-hour assistance and nursing homes.
