Technical Services

Technical services are run by the Technical Committee. Mika Mannervesi serves as Branch Director of Technical Services.
Technical Services consists of the following departments: property and surveying, public works, facility services, catering and cleaning, and technical services administration.

The property and surveying department is responsible for the procurement, administration and handing over of land areas, and for plots. This department also handles management and clear cutting of commercial forests. The department handles the following official tasks: maintaining the land register and map, cadastral procedure, easement and contract matters, drawing up the plot division, and private road issues. Surveying tasks are related to maintaining maps, cadastral procedures, building supervision and civil engineering construction.

The public works department is responsible for the city´s road network, and the planning, construction and maintenance of parks and public areas. This department also runs the city´s central warehouse and machine depot.
The facility services department is responsible for managing and maintaining the properties owned by the city, developing construction sites and administering the city´s rental housing units.

The catering and cleaning department produces catering and cleaning services for its clients. The catering unit comprises the central kitchens, production kitchens and delivery kitchens while the cleaning unit includes schools, day care centres, offices, sports facilities and other cleaning sites.

Technical Services administration prepares matters related to the property and surveying, civil engineering, facilities, and catering and cleaning departments and handles issues associated with meetings of the technical committee.
