Salo Secondary School for Adult EducationSchool ProfileMission StatementSalo Secondary School for Adult Education offers Value Basis of the SchoolOur learners are treated as adults who enrich our school work with their individual effort and experience of life. They, together with the school, share the responsibility of planning and completing their studies according to individual study plans. CurriculaCurriculum for Secondary Adult Education as decreed by the National of Board of Education in Finland (M/4/011/2004) II Curriculum for Comprehensive School Education as decreed by the National of Board of Education in Finland (M/4/011/2004). Subject Matter EmphasisA rich offering of general subjects especially in foreign languages including English, German, French, Russian, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Latin. Our school also offers Open University courses in Cultural History and Philosophy as a partner secondary school with Turku University and Jyväskylä University. Organization of SchoolworkThe school year of 140 school days is divided into five periods each consisting of 28 school days and 28 hours of instruction. Subjects taught are placed in the timetable between 4.15 p.m. and 8.45 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The school takes part in the Salo area secondary school co-operation (general subject institutions working together with area vocational institutions). DiplomasThe school has right to grant diplomas in Secondary Education (General Subjects) and in Comprehensive School Education.
