The City Council

The highest decision-making organ in Salo is the City Council. The Council makes the most important financial decisions as well as those related to City administration. The Council further vests their powers in other organs such as the City Board, various committees and boards and individual officials.

The Council elects the members of the City organs and makes the appointments to the most important offices.

The 51-member City Council of Salo is elected by municipal elections every fourth year. The Council is the highest decision-making organ of the city. The Council makes the decisions on all important financial matters such as the budget, the income tax percentage and the appropriations of different administrations.

The Council Meetings

The Council meetings are open to the public, if not otherwise decreed by the Council on special occasions. The public entrance is at City Halll Tehdaskatu 2 .
